On August 20, GEIDCO held a GEI Cloud Seminar: Paths and Choices of Addressing Climate Change for Small Island Developing States. The event aimed at addressing climate change and facilitating low-carbon transition of small island states, based on their energy development characteristics and needs. Government officials and senior experts from Kiribati，Vanuatu and etc. participated in the discussions via video links.
On July 17, Liu Zhenya, Chairman of GEIDCO, and Angela Wilkinson, Secretary-General of World Energy Council (WEC) held a video conferencing, and exchanged views on topics such as how to deal with the pandemic’s impact on the energy sector, how to tackle the climate and environmental crisis, and promote clean and sustainable development, with many common understandings reached.
The policy brief --Building Global Energy Interconnection and Strengthening Interlinkages with the SDGs, submitted by GEIDCO this year, consists of five parts, including Key Concept, Energy Interconnections: Current Status, Benefits of GEI, Obstacles to Developing GEI and Policy Recommendations.
On May 20th, Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) released the "Call for Applications: GEIDCO Research Projects (GRPs) 2020", which received positive responses from all parties.

The Research on Hydropower Development and Delivery in Congo River (Chinese and English versions) authored by GEIDCO, was published worldwide. This is the first planning study on hydropower development and outbound delivery in the downstream of the Congo River under the framework of African Energy Interconnection, filling in the gaps in relevant research fields worldwide.
In 2020, a crisis emanating from the nature dealt a heavy blow to the human society, sounding a wake-up call.
