Bloomberg News:China,South Korea to Push Power Grid Interconnection Project

(Bloomberg) -- State Grid Corp.of China and Global EnergyInterconnection Development and Cooperation Organization in December agreed with Korea Electric Power push a grid-interconnection project in the two countries, GEIDCO, backed by State Grid, says in a statement.

The agreement is under the framework of a larger program among Mongolia, China, South Korea and Japan. Project, part of efforts to implement China’s Belt and Roadinitiative, can help raise efficiency of using clean energy inNortheast Asia.

First phase of an ultra high voltage transmission project inBrazil, built by a consortium led by State Grid, also startedcommercial operation in December as part of energyinterconnection in South America.
